Today’s Blogher prompt asks the question ‘Where do you see your blog in one year? Five years?’
Well, the answer to this question is actually quite simple but requires some imagination. Obviously being an optimistic person and a dreamer to some extent I would like to imagine that my blog would have reached the pinnacles of success in the next five years!
At present my blog is young and energetic and raring to go. Within one year I visualize having an established presence in blogosphere, with perhaps (wishfully) some blogging awards under my belt and writing offers from wordpress and blogher!! No, please, I don’t wish to sound pompous at all ,but the prompt, prompts me to think the best possible. so why shouldn’t I?
In one year I also anticipate having a published novel credited to my name.In five years time, God willing things should continue to be moving well not just in terms of blogging but also related to family, health and of course wealth! (It rhymes well you see) Last but not the least , I’m sure I’ll have become an expert blogger-so writing a book on blogging tips for beginners is on the cards. Any Takers?
Today’s post is simple but it means a lot to me.I wrote my first blog post on 18th July, 2014. I set myself the first landmark of achieving 1000 views. On 13th November 2014, I proudly state that this task has been accomplished with 1008 total views that day and still counting! At the time of posting this article its 1058 views.
Its been an amazing journey so far with immense growth in my own capabilities as a writer and blogger. This may be a relatively small achievement for some perhaps, but for ‘riturang’,its time to celebrate! For this I have to thank the wordpress team for the tremendous support offered by hosting events such as blogging 101 , writing 201,etc which push you to learn more and try and excel in putting across and sharing one’s stories ,thoughts and ideas to whole world. These events are highly recommended;.the latest one to add to the list in which yours truly is participating is Nablopomo.
I also take this opportunity to thank members of the blogging community for stopping by my blog and taking out precious time to read my posts, your likes and your comments. Support given by family members, friends, relatives ,facebook is also highly appreciated.Ah well ,it seems like i’m getting carried away and giving an award winning thanksgiving speech or something! Well the idea is that an encouraging response simply helps in pushing the envelope further. Each day presents new stories and new challenges.Stay tuned for more, as I prepare to write a post about another milestone crossed!
It was just by a lucky chance that I got attracted by Hot off the press article by Michelle W. ; ‘The NaMos are Coming! The NaMos are Coming!’ NaMo essentially meant NaNoWriMo and NaBloPoMo , which stand for National novel writing month and National blog posting month respectively. My initial desire was to participate in the novel writing challenge. Could there be anything better than being able to complete a novel in a month ? Sure enough, but many experts warned that editing the novel could become a daunting task later on. The idea for my novel is very clear in my mind but i don’t want it to be a hurriedly churned out work. Having said this ,I just could not let ‘november’ pass by without doing anything substantial. It was with these thoughts that I zeroed in to take up the challenge called NaBloPoMo ! The challenge in which we are to commit to making a post everyday- however busy you may be.
In part this page I am dedicating to this challenge is also prompted by the ‘NaBloPoMo November 2014 Prompts’ for day 6 i.e.
Do you consider yourself a “professional” blogger? Why or why not? What does that mean to you?
Ah well, I don’t see myself as a professional blogger yet, but yes i am learning ,and I guess I am learning fast. The real challenge for me lies in the fact that I want my writing to be taken seriously and so would hate to post anything which is not up to the mark. I am immensely thankful for the favourable and positive response that I am getting so far from fellow bloggers and readers. As for what is professional blogger? i am not so sure. Haha! perhaps it means someone who is able to earn some bucks other than accolades from their writing (besides their day job)!
