I received a most amazing New Year gift on the last day of year 2015. Guess what? A surprise nomination for an award by dear @mescalime (Psychochromatic Inception). The best part was that she very graciously permitted me to choose between 3 different awards she had received herself, namely : Sunshine Blogger Award, Liebster Award and The Word Magician Award. I have accepted the Sunshine Blogger Award as I can identify with it. I truly believe that a blog should be inspirational and spread some joy!
As per the ‘general rules’ of awards, I shall nominate 7 more bloggers for this award whose posts I enjoy reading. Mind you this is a tough task as each and every blog is fabulous in its own way.

Many thanks to the whole blogging community and wish you all a very happy and fulfilling new year 2016!
Blooms of flame orange,
and dewy pink rose buds,
uplifting my mood.
How about a walk in the nearby park to ward away the winter blues? The sight of the lovely flowers is almost like a sure short guarantee to be able to cheer up any nature lover. See the beautiful picture (featured image) I captured with my Iphone today in the expansive Rose Garden of Chandigarh. While walking, this little poem started forming in my head and I kept on repeating it again and again like a nursery rhyme lest I forget; making the child in me alive! Finally, here I am, wasting no time at all in sharing it with all of you lovely people!

Sing a song…oh baby ding a dong!! Ah well, this week started on a promising note; after all it was our Republic Day on January 26 on Monday. So the song on my lips was ‘ Vande mataram’. This Republic day was special too, with the American president Mr. Barack Obama as chief guest, so we all sat glued to our television sets. The popular song ‘Mumbai se aaya mera dost’ took on a new meaning and form highlighting the friendship between Indian prime minister Shri Narendra Modi and Mr. Barack Obama as ‘America se aaya mera dost, dost ko salaam karo….’. Tuesday was a restful day, a day for self introspection and hum my favourite soulful song ‘Tinka- tinka zaraa zaraa, hai roshni se jaise bharaa, har dil main armaan hote to hain…’ beautifully picturized on one of my favourite bollywood actresses, Priyanka Chopra in the film Karam. Wednesday onwards its the shaadi fever (wedding season) catching up once again!! So we have been grooving non stop to popular punjabi numbers like ‘Angreji beat’ by Gippy Grewal and Yo Yo Honey Singh. Other songs which we simply could not resist dancing to were ‘ London Thumakda’ from the movie Queen and ‘Tumne mari entry yaar, dil main baji ghanti yaar…’ from the film Gunday. So in all it has been an action packed week!
And well, time to say good bye for now – coz we are to attend yet another wedding tonight !!
I hope you enjoyed reading my playlist of the week.

Sinful, gooey, soft:
Melting in the mouth sweet indulgence!
Laden with calories, hmm… bad for my waistline.
I know, I know, but don’t make make me guilt-ridden,
Cakes and puddings are in general forbidden !
Yet they pull me, like a strong magnetic field,
Forgive me, if to the sweet temptations I yield,
Coz no matter what,
I’m actually grateful for the that joyful surge I feel !
I seriously love baking as well as devouring heavenly cakes and puddings. The above poem is is in honour of these tasty treats and in response to today’s daily prompt Grateful and Guilty.
